T-60 – up-armoured (Soviet)

Description The T-60 was a Soviet light tank produced from 1941-1942 and used throughout the rest of WWII. Designed to replace the now obsolete T-38, it had a 20mm cannon as it’s primary armament, better cross country capabilities and slightly thicker armour. The T-60 still suffered from the drawbacks of relatively thin armour and a weak gun when placed next to even contemporary medium tanks, but it could be produced in large numbers by factories unable to manufacture larger tanks.  Occasionally the T-60 was also “up-armoured” in the field by the addition on extra armour plates over weak points – particularly the lower glacis.
