*US, Cold War Era, M16 / AR-15 GI Silent Sling, Black Nylon Rifle Sling* Original US military GI-pattern rifle sling of the “silent sling” type, made from black woven nylon webbing with parkerised steel adjustment buckles. This sling uses the standard two-buckle sliding adjustment system without hooks, designed for quiet operation in the field. The diagonally cut ends allow the webbing to be threaded through the buckles, as seen on correct US-issue examples. Correct width for US rifle swivels and suitable for use with the M16, AR-15, M14 and other US service rifles using 1¼-inch sling loops. Approx. Measurements – Length fully extended: 123 cm. Width: approx. 3.2 cm. Historical Note: The GI “silent sling” became standard issue for US forces from the Vietnam War period onward, replacing earlier cotton web slings. Black nylon examples are typically later production, most commonly encountered with M16A2 and late Cold War equipment from the 1980s–1990s. *Condition* Good used condition. Light service wear to the webbing and minor finish wear to the buckles. No damage or repairs noted. Please see photographs as part of the condition report. RQMFXAO_6142232967
