I transfer high quality text and images to my wood projects. This may be as simple as instructions for the wooden puzzle to art work that complements a carved project. The only caution is that for a perfect, crisp transfer the wood needs to have a smooth surface (like paper). I do heat and press a bit more than when just transferring patterns.
